Saturday

The day started early, like 5:30 a.m. early. It was cool then. Now it is a little after 11 a.m. and it is brutal in the sun. Didn't go to sell this morning, figured most people spent their money during the holiday weekend, so they were not buying.  When I walked around, it looked like that. I could have come home with any number of kittens or puppies, or even a goat. Not ready for an animal just yet, I'd really like to find some sucker (I mean buyer) who wants to live out in the country, have their horses, and play rancher come along. I didn't buy any bikes, (I have too many right now) and saw a bunch of stuff I would have liked. When you live in an area where the economy has taken its toll, you see people selling everything, cheap. Now what shall I do? I know what I should be doing, but it is the weekend.

Happy Birthday

happy birthday to [info]jblindsight...don't act ypur age, be a rebel.

I figure the feds will read this..

I just read from the FBI Domestic Terrorism Training manual. well I guess a lot of us are now considered terrorists. Seems if you keep watch on the government's abuse of power, keep an eye on corporations who are raping and pillaging the planet, or file freedom of information requests, you are suspect.

Oh well, read more here...

urban exploring

Recently I've been exploring San Diego by bike. The last trip I used GPS tracking to keep a record of my trip. It was a trip to Little Italy where I found myself in the middle of a festival. Here is a map of the trip. The average speed shown is low because of time spent exploring, but I can say the ride was a workout because of the hills. This map has extra features like tracking and profiles. Check out what can be done with Google Maps and the site Everytrail.com

The Los Angeles Times did some real journalism and started looking at the real costs of healthcare. The looked at the cash price, the insurance price, and the averages as posted by the state insurance commissioner. This article will make you angry, very angry. I think because of this investigation I'm going to sick Darryl Issa on this (he took my last tip and ran with it, he's a publicity hound). This was a quick picture I grabbed as I left my local Circle K market on a snowy morning heading for work on my 100 mile commute (yes I was crazy).

The people of Quebec have the right idea..

There is a Canadian Spring happening right now in Montreal and other parts of Quebec. It started as a protest to an 82% tuition increase that was going to force students into debt (sound familiar?) and has now become a battle to keep the rights they are guaranteed under their constitution. Here is an article that gives a quick look at the current situation in Canada. I'm hoping that this movement inspires students here to rise up and let's hope this freedom movement spreads to the United States.

Of course you won't find the truth or even coverage of these events in the mainstream media as mainstream media has become a pro capitalism propaganda machine.

more fires...

Right now there is a major blaze in San Diego County near Julian, over 1000 acres and growing fast. Evacuations are ongoing.

Here is the news...
